Evelyn Corinne Ozmun

Evelyn Corinne (Hasslen) Ozmun at the age of 89, passed away peacefully on March 5th at the Northfield Retirement Center. Evelyn was born on January 28, 1924 in St. Paul, Minnesota to Anna and Edward Hasslen.

The oldest of four daughters, she attended Wilson High School where she lettered in basketball and graduated in 1942. After graduation, she worked at Montgomery Wards and met farm boy, Harvey "Buster" Ozmun. They were married on October 25, 1947 at Zion Lutheran Church in St. Paul and moved to the farm in 1950.

Evelyn enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking and playing 500 with her family, friends and neighbors. She was a member of Farmington Lutheran Church, Happy Hour Circle, a 4-H Leader and treasurer for 34 years at the Castle Rock Valley cemetery. She devoted her life to raising her children, working on the farm and babysitting and enjoying her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Evelyn and Buster enjoyed traveling to Hawaii, Branson and Texas bringing back chicklets for the grandkids and tablecloths for the children.

She is preceded in death by her parents, son Thomas in 1978 & sister, Gloria Gipple.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years Harvey "Buster" and four children: Ron (Carol) Ozmun, Worthington, MN, Nancy (Lyle) Gunderson, Northfield, MN, Mary (Mike) Graff, Dundas, MN, James (Candi) Ozmun, Farmington, MN. 11 grandchildren, Chris, Lindsay, Keith, Amy, Lori, Mark, Pat, Lisa, Katie, Greg & Phil. Six great–grandchildren, Rachel, Logan, Kyleigh, Kennedey, Madalynn & Eva. Sisters Delores Mallet and Joanne Richardson.

Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Saturday, March 9, 2013 at Farmington Lutheran Church, 20600 Akin Rd, Farmington, MN with visitation on Friday (3/8) from 4-8 PM at the White Funeral Home, 901 3rd St., Farmington (651-463-7374) and 1 hr. prior to service at church. Interment, Castle Rock Valley Cemetery
