Helen Lorraine (Partlow) Alich, age 83 of Lakeville passed away peacefully on Monday, February 25th with her loving husband at her side. Helen grew up on a farm south of Farmington, MN. She graduated from Farmington High School and worked as a switchboard operator with the telephone company until 1948. Helen was married to William Alich on July 30, 1948. They enjoyed 64 years of marriage together raising three children and spending their retirement years at Wilderness Park in Crosslake, MN. Helen worked various jobs throughout her lifetime including Enggren’s Bakery, Lakeville Laundromat and Stampings of Southern Minnesota. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Helen enjoyed picnics, biking, singing, sewing, flowers, embroidery, bird watching and polka music. She and husband, Bud, loved to show off their dance skills at various area ballrooms. Their favorite waltz was “Dance Across Texas.” She dearly loved her dog, Annie Mae and playing a rousing game of Chickenfoot. Preceded in death by her parents, Wallace and Lillian Partlow; sisters, Gladys Partlow and Marjorie Perry and brothers-in-law, Roland Perry and Louis Juenke. Helen is survived by husband, William “Bud” James Alich; daughters Carol (Michael) Rath and Mary (Gary) Hoopman and son Alan (Nancy) Alich; grandchildren, Michelle, Rebecca, Noelle, Jason, Amanda, Andrea, Andy and Simon and 10 great-grandchildren. Also survived by brother, Wallace (Mary Louise “Sis”) Partlow and sister, Jean Ann Juenke. Mass of Christian burial will be held Friday, March 1, 2013 at 11:30 AM at All Saints Catholic Church in Lakeville with visitation 1 hour prior to Mass at church. Interment at Farmington Lutheran Cemetery, Farmington, MN.
